Exciting News & Fun Stuff

Okay…

I promised I had a few things up my sleeve . . . okay, maybe I only got one thing up my sleeve . . . no wait . . . it is two – my arm and the other “thing.”  Before I get to that, I wanna talk about the fun stuff I’ve been doing on Second Life (SL)

Today was very very kewl.  My little Sis, Shadow, was online and asked me to come join her at a haunted house she was at.  Now that place was pretty awesome, and yeah, it was kinda spooky too.  Never mind that I was my usual clumsy self and fell off the roof.  Good thing in SL it’s almost impossible to break your leg – at least I haven’t yet.  So after exploring that, her Coyote and myself and one other friend we kinda picked up along  the way went off checking out amusement parks.  Sweet!  We actually found two – one with an incredible rollercoaster (which unfortunately hung up at the top – every real person’s nightmare in Real Life.)  The best ride of all was a hmm… what would you call it? . . . it was like bumper cars, only we were in the water.  Yeah… water bumper cars, that’s it!  The coolest part of that ride was somehow managing to knock Coyote and his navigator right out of the ride and almost 40 meters away.  Woot woot!  They got back in the ride area and Coyote vowed revenge, but it was not his to be had… LOL … he couldn’t do it.  Of course not – women drivers rock and there was no way in the world he was going to be able to duplicate mine and Shadow’s driving accomplishment.  Eat my dust, Coyote!!!

Okay… the thing up my sleeve.  Exciting stuff.  :-D   No, I haven’t blown up the house but close – I recently managed to snag a new piece of land.  Now, I have enjoyed my time at Sammy Springs, but the prims have been killing me by limiting how much we can do.  So, the new property has a whole lot of prims and will provide a whole lot more freedom to muck around and create the dream place that I want.  Blessedly, Duncan has offered to help build my new home – a Victorian style place – because if he didn’t help, I’d have to go buy a prefab house that wouldn’t be near as awesome as the stuff I have seen him build.  Perhaps he might be a little frustrated by my inability to give exact specifications of what I want, but I am having a hard time wrapping my head around exactly how big things should be in SL – I am not spatially oriented even in RL.  LOL – I suck at maps, and trying to estimate anything that requires measurements.  So, today I will be off looking at pictures on the net to get a better idea of what I want.

From the furniture end of things, and even the outside, I got a pretty good idea of where things will go.  Might take me an awfully long time to fill the house up, but I know exactly what I am looking for.  Outside is really easy but again will take a while to do – I have a very clear picture in my head of what I want to see.  I have some pretty fond memories of growing up on a farm and what that all meant, so combining those elements with some of the sweet stuff you find in SL (gardens, flowers, walkways, streams, ponds, etc) it will turn out just fine, I’m sure.

The one thing missing from the property but will be remedied is the lack of a beach.  Everybody who knows me knows I have to have a beach and some water.  I’m a pretty lucky SL resident who has some awesome friends – these friends are either capable of terraforming or know people who do.  I’m pretty excited about it all.  I can see running a beach along two whole sides of the property and having the house facing  into one corner of the beach.  Ahh… utopia!

Soo… if you don’t see me too much on SL or if you see me and I’m not coming out to play (GASP!) it’s probably ‘cuz I’m trying to sort out what to do with the new land.  I’ll be sure to let everyone know where it is once it actually starts to look like something, and will having a party to celebrate the new house once it is all built!

Catch ya all on the flip side.
