Ah ha! Did I get your attention with the title of this blog entry?
Okay, maybe it isn’t going to be an ode… maybe it will be a rant. I coulda kicked Second Life (SL) and Linden Labs (LL) in the arse today. I mean what the heck is up? Got booted off, and then couldn’t get on for a while… something to do with network problems. Arrgghh! Come on Linden Labs – get with the program!
Alright, so I’ve done my moaning and groaning. Truth be known, I wasn’t able to spend quite as much time on SL today that I wanted to (so far.) I had a variety of tasks to attend to including an appointment to determine if I was returning to work or not yet. Guess what? Not happening yet. *shrug* Oh well.. part of me wants to return as I have visions of a ton of work stuff piling up, but the other part of me knows that this just isn’t quite the right time.
What have I been doing on SL lately? Hanging with friends, of course. Doing what you ask? Well… mostly just hanging. Let’s see… I’ve been hanging with a whack of different people – Coyote, Ari, Pasha, Duncan, Shadow. Alas, Zen and I seem to be on different schedules lately. What have we all been doing – well, some pretty kewl stuff (naturally!) There’s been the clubs (woohoo!) and beaches and oh yeah – Clown Town. What a blast that place is. Heard lots about it, visited it for the first time the other day!!!
Ooh ohh… don’t let me get distracted. Oh yeah… the kewl stuff – picked up a pair of Wheelie shoes. You know – those shoes all the kids are wearing where they walk and then put one foot out and wheel around. You see them in the stores all the time and just know the store owners hate those shoes. Well, know this – as an adult, if we wore those shoes – haha – people would look at us and laugh – but in SL, we can wear ‘em and do!! Yeehawww! What else have I discovered? Umm… oh! Fishing! That darn Ari introduced me to fishing… yikes. I can see it developing into a secondary SL addiction. An addiction within an addiction? Heck, why not!
Friends, friends, friends! You know what I find hard about SL? All the people out there that I call friends, and only one of me to spend time talking with them all. It’s sheer torture, I tell ya – torture! Throw into the fray, the different time zones that we all live in and well – doesn’t that just suck the big one, huh? Happily, I usually manage to get to spend some time with everyone – just some days it’s not as much as I would like to. *frown*
