Well today got off to a rough start when my friend Duncan informed me that his house, dock, and most of his buildings had vanished into thin air. After reading Disaster!!! I was thoroughly alarmed and extremely dismayed. It seemed for sure that things would not ever be the same. After all, the “The Dock” is where I ventured forth into Second Life (SL.) Fortunately, things have been put right again and the rest of the day unfolded in a giddy, happy way.
Must have been the tension in the air, but we had a blast – Can you say “Skinny Dipping?” or… how about “Skinny Jetskiing” … I think there was even a Windsail involved too. Who knew that life could be that much fun? There were of course the usual glitches. I think one of my biggest pet peeves are the places where you cross into a “You Don’t Belong Here” zone, and not only do you end up being knocked into “God Knows Where” but you lose equipment and stuff. I think Coyote is still looking for his Windsail.
I learned a really important ‘techie’ thing when you lose something – go to coordinates (0,0) on the sim and take a look to see if your lost item has been dropped there. I tried to do the “Control, Shift, Alt, 5″ button to strip away the land so I could see lost objects, but for me, my computer is somehow set up to fire up one of my media programs. Note to self: Fix that!!! Anyways, didn’t find the lost object we were looking for, but I did find a rather umm… interesting picture… LOL. Next time I’m lonely, I’ll go back to that Sim and go take another look at it.
So, overall… an eventful day, but an interesting day. Now excuse me while I go figure out how to disable that media program from popping up when I use that series of keystrokes
